A Rainbow to Go
I let a Rainbow representative into my house last night. *Gasp!* Yes, I know this goes against everything I believe in, except for one thing. Free stuff was promised. Let's back up just a bit.
A couple of months ago, the wife worked a booth at the State Fair. On her break, she signed up to win a Rainbow vacuum in a drawing. She didn't win, but Friday night we received a call from a rep who wanted to give us a demonstration of their filterless air filter, which, like the vacuum, uses water to catch the bad stuff. In return, he would give us one. So, I "aqua-esced" and we set up a time for Monday night.
In return for watching a product demo on the air filter, he did indeed give us the filter. We were also treated to a demonstration on the newest e-series Rainbow vacuum, which, he understood, we are not in a position to buy at the moment. The wife and I already know how great these things are, as both sets of our parents have one. We've used them. If we had the money, we'd have one yesterday.
It was a low pressure sales pitch, and the representative and his fiancée were both very likable. He's been selling the systems for at least four years (he sold my parents theirs), and I have a feeling that in about a year and a half, he'll sell us ours, after the wife has finished paying off her student loans.
