What I've Got in Common With Hilary Duff

What do I have in common with Hilary Duff?

Very little, really. Although I can sing, I'm not a chart-topping recording artist. I've only been in one movie, and I was an extra with no lines. And although I do love animals, I can't stand certain ones, like chihuahuas, for instance. Sorry, Hil.

We both, however, make appearances in video games. She and Lola (the infernal chihuahua) are both available from ea for download into Sims2 with the release of the latest expansion pack, Pets. I have a character in Silver Style Entertainment's title The Fall: Last Days of Gaia, which somehow never was released in America, despite the publisher's assurances that developments with a North American distributor were going as planned. Long story short: if you can understand German, Spanish, or Polish, you can get yourself a copy of this game and meet me in the virtual wasteland of The Fall. If you happen to run across me, snap a screenshot and post it somewhere, so I can see if they did my character justice.

Getting Off On the Right Foot

How do you know it's going to be a good day? When you have a choice between bacon and sausage on your Whataburger breakfast platter, you order bacon, and when you get to work, you discover you were given both! Not to mention the lid on the cup of gravy for your biscuit has stayed secure. Then you remember it's Friday, and tomorrow you're going fishing with your dad, who has an 18-foot Tracker, and he's supplying all the tackle. Then you remember that your best friend is coming to town for a visit this weekend, and there will be free eating at his mom's house. Yep. Goin' to be a good day.

Fare Thee Well

Sunday afternoon the church said goodbye to Anthony O'Neal and his family. Anthony has taken a position at another church in North Carolina. There was a nice reception and time for fellowship in the Fellowship Hall for Anthony and his wife, Amy, and their four children, Mark Hudson, Vivian, Sophie, and Josiah. We wish these wonderful people all the best, and our love goes with them to their new home. Anthony served at Highland Baptist Church as Associate Pastor and Minister of Education.
